Cybersecurity in Germany: Bitkom study 2025 warns of increasing cyberattacks on companies

A very warm hello,

The Bitkom study "Economic Protection 2025" shows alarming figures on cybersecurity in German companies. According to the study, 87% of companies have become victims of data theft, industrial espionage or sabotage in the last 12 months, up from 81% in the previous year. The damage caused by this amounts to 289.2 billion euros.

Of particular concern is the origin of the attacks: 46% of affected companies report cyberattacks from Russia, as many from China. According to Bitkom, these countries are the main sources of state-controlled attacks on German companies.

The study shows that IT security solutions today are not only technical tools, but also an entrepreneurial leadership task. Organizations must step up their security measures to ward off the growing threat of cyberattacks.
